Pre-Purchase Information & Consumer Disclosure
WEBSITE INFORMATION ONLY – NOT A PURCHASE CONTRACT
Royal Markys provides this page so prospective buyers can review our standard purchase terms before reserving a kitten. Before any reservation deposit is accepted for an online, email, telephone, or other distance transaction, the prospective Buyer will receive or be given access to the full Royal Markys Pet Kitten Purchase and Ownership Agreement and the transaction-specific information required for that purchase.
1. ROYAL MARKYS
Royal Markys British Shorthair Cattery • Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
Email: royalmarkys@gmail.com Website: british-shorthairkittens.com
2. STANDARD RESERVATION DEPOSIT
Our standard reservation deposit is CAD $500 and is credited toward the kitten’s purchase price. The amount remains subject to any statutory limit, cancellation right, refund right, or other mandatory legal requirement that applies to the particular transaction.
Except where applicable law gives the Buyer a right to cancel and receive a refund, the deposit is non-refundable if the Buyer simply changes their mind, voluntarily cancels, fails to complete the purchase as agreed, or becomes ineligible under the pet-only placement terms. Once a kitten is reserved, Royal Markys may stop offering that kitten to other prospective buyers.
If a Buyer cancels for a serious or compassionate reason accepted by Royal Markys in good faith, the kitten may be offered for sale again. If the replacement sale is completed at the same or a higher kitten price, the deposit will be refunded after cleared funds are received. If the delayed resale reasonably requires a lower selling price or direct re-marketing costs, those actual amounts may be deducted and any remaining balance refunded. If the kitten is not resold, no refund is due under this discretionary compassionate-cancellation policy, except where required by law.
3. KEY PURCHASE CONDITIONS
• Kittens are sold as PET HOME ONLY – NO BREEDING RIGHTS unless a separate written breeding agreement is expressly offered.
• Spay/neuter is required by 12 months unless a licensed veterinarian documents postponement, medical contraindication, or other medical inappropriateness.
• Elective declawing is prohibited. Kittens are to be kept primarily indoors and may not roam outdoors freely.
• If an owner can no longer keep the cat, Royal Markys must be contacted before permanent rehoming or transfer.
• An initial veterinary examination is required within 72 hours or 3 business days after transfer.
• The standard contract includes a 12-month limited hereditary and congenital health guarantee, subject to its full written terms and applicable law.
4. BEFORE YOU PAY A RESERVATION DEPOSIT
For the specific kitten you wish to reserve, Royal Markys will provide the information required for that transaction before the contract is entered into. This may include the kitten’s identifying details, purchase price, taxes and other charges, payment terms, expected transfer or supply date, delivery arrangements, and the applicable cancellation, return, exchange, and refund policies.
For an electronic transaction, the Buyer will have an opportunity to review the required information, correct errors, and accept or decline the contract. A copy of the completed contract will be provided in the manner and within the period required by applicable British Columbia law.
5. IMPORTANT
This website notice is general information only. It is not a reservation, offer of a particular kitten, receipt, or purchase contract, and it does not replace the transaction- specific Pre-Purchase Disclosure or the completed Pet Kitten Purchase and Ownership Agreement. If a mandatory provision of British Columbia law applies to a transaction, that legal requirement prevails over any inconsistent standard policy.
Before reserving a kitten, please review our Website Sample Agreement. The individual Pre-Purchase Disclosure and completed final Agreement will be provided for the specific transaction.
