British Shorthair Kittens in Canada & USA

September 24, 2026

Looking for a British Shorthair kitten in Canada or the United States?

Royal Markys is a home-based British Shorthair cattery located in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Our kittens are raised in our home with daily care, human interaction, play and age-appropriate socialization.

We welcome inquiries from approved homes across Canada and the United States. Families are not limited to Surrey or Vancouver. We work with prospective owners from British Columbia, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and other regions of Canada, as well as from the United States.

Transportation arrangements are discussed individually based on the destination, the kitten’s age and readiness, and suitable travel options. Transportation costs are separate unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Available British Shorthair Kittens

Royal Markys raises British Shorthair kittens in beautiful blue and lilac colours.

Availability changes as kittens are reserved, so families can always check our available British Shorthair kittens for the most current information.

Pet kittens are placed under a PET HOME ONLY — NO BREEDING RIGHTS agreement.

Breeding rights may be available for selected kittens only after individual approval and require a separate written agreement and separate pricing.

Health Testing and Veterinary Care

Health and responsible breeding are central to Royal Markys.

Our breeding cats have completed Wisdom Panel™ Complete DNA testing.

Before transfer, every Royal Markys kitten receives a veterinary health examination.

Each kitten goes home with:

  • veterinary health examination completed before transfer
  • veterinary health record
  • age-appropriate vaccinations
  • preventive deworming
  • microchip and available microchip information
  • written Sales Agreement
  • Starter Food Pack
  • feeding and transition information
  • access to 30 days of Trupanion pet insurance for eligible new owners through the Royal Markys breeder program, subject to Trupanion eligibility and activation requirements

Our Pet Kitten Purchase and Ownership Agreement also provides a 12-month limited hereditary and congenital health guarantee, subject to the complete terms of the Agreement.

We also believe breeder support should continue after the kitten goes home. Families can contact us with questions as their kitten settles in and grows.

TICA Registration and Pedigree

For pet kittens, TICA registration documentation or ownership transfer is completed or released after Royal Markys receives satisfactory written veterinary proof that the kitten has been spayed or neutered in accordance with the Purchase Agreement.

An official pedigree is not included in the standard kitten purchase price or standard Kitten Package. A pedigree may be ordered separately where available.

TICA registration, a pedigree, show participation or intact status does not grant breeding rights.

British Shorthair Kittens Across Canada

Royal Markys is located in British Columbia, but our kitten placements are not limited to Greater Vancouver.

We welcome approved families from British Columbia, Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and other regions of Canada.

Families searching for British Shorthair kittens for sale in Canada can review our current kittens and contact us about the placement process and suitable transportation arrangements.

For families who live farther away, transportation is discussed individually with the health, safety and comfort of the kitten as the priority.

British Shorthair Kittens for Families in the United States

Royal Markys also welcomes inquiries from approved homes in the United States.

Transportation and travel arrangements are discussed individually before plans are made. Families in the USA can review our current kittens and contact Royal Markys to discuss availability, approval and the appropriate transfer process.

Going Home with a Royal Markys Kitten

Royal Markys kittens normally go home at approximately 12–14 weeks of age, depending on the individual kitten’s health, development and veterinary readiness.

After physical transfer, the Buyer must arrange an examination by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours or three business days, whichever provides the longer practical period.

For pet kittens, spay or neuter is required by 12 months of age unless a licensed veterinarian provides written medical reasons for postponement or contraindication. Written veterinary confirmation is then provided to Royal Markys according to the Purchase Agreement.

Families can read more about our policies and kitten care in our Frequently Asked Questions.

How to Reserve a Royal Markys Kitten

Our process is designed to make each placement clear and responsible.

The process begins with an application and approval, followed by kitten matching and a pre-purchase review of the applicable documents.

Once a kitten has been matched and approved, a CAD $500 reservation deposit is required and is applied toward the purchase price, subject to the written terms and applicable law.

The kitten continues receiving age-appropriate care and veterinary attention until go-home. Final payment is completed before ownership transfer and physical transfer of the kitten.

Families interested in a Royal Markys kitten can review our application and reservation process before submitting an inquiry.

Meet Our British Shorthair Parents

Our breeding cats are selected with attention to health, breed type and temperament.

Families can learn more about our British Shorthair parents, their registrations and health testing on the Parents page.
